What You Need to Know Before Going to Taunton’s Summer Celebration

Taunton, MA (WLNE) – Taunton Police released important information for anyone attending the city’s annual Summer Celebration at Hopewell Park on Friday.
To help with traffic, GATRA will provide a free shuttle service to Hopewell Park for the event. You can get on the shuttle either at Court Street or at the Pleasant Street lot.
Summer Celebration will include games and a K-9 presentation. There will be a performance by GQ and The Lady at 6 p.m.
Police say there will be a fireworks display at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks will last about 30 minutes. The launch site will be restricted for everyone’s safety.
Chief Edward Walsh asks that people not call 911 to report fireworks or noise complaints. He says 911 lines need to stay open for emergencies.
Officers will be present at the celebration in case anyone needs assistance.
