60-year-old woman stabbed in Warwick, suspect arrested

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE)- The Warwick Police Department arrested a man after he stabbed a 60-year-old woman on Friday morning.

Investigators arrested 26-year-old Derek Daluz at the scene on Mohawk Avenue without incident.

Police responded to Mohawk Avenue at around 8:30 a.m. for reports of a stabbing.

Upon arriving at the scene, investigators found a 60-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds.

The woman was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries that were not life threatening.

Daluz was charged with domestic assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling house.

The victim and Daluz are housemates.
