Patriots Release QB Cam Newton

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE)- The New England Patriots are releasing quarterback Cam Newton, according to multiple reports.

The former MVP spent one season in Foxborough, throwing for 2,657 yards, with 8 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

With the release of Newton, rookie Mac Jones is set to move into the starting role.
