New Bedford beaches reopened for swimming

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) -The New Bedford Health Department announced Friday that all of the city’s beaches, except for one part, have reopened for swimming.

A section of West Beach, between the West Beach Boathouse and the West Beach Pavilion, will remain closed until further notice as the water continues to be tested for quality after the recent rainfall.

Beaches were closed after the remnants of Hurricane Ida caused excessive rainfall.
