PICK SIX FRIDAY: Rhode Island Teams Begin Postseason Journey In Quarterfinal Games

Rhode Island high school playoffs featured ten quarterfinal games in three divisions.

Portsmouth moved into the Division 1 semifinals with 35 to 22 win.

Hendricken beat Barrington, 41 to 0 to advance.  The Hawks and Patriots will meet in the semifinals.

LaSalle held off St. Ray’s, 34 to 26.  

Central surprised North Kingstown, 22 to 14.  The Knights will now face the Rams in the semifinals.

In Division II, Shea beat East Greenwich, 29 to 7 to advance.

Mt. Hope defeated Westerly, 21 to 7.  The Huskies will play the winner of Saturday’s Moses Brown-Middletown game in the semifinals.

North Kingstown won at West Warwick, 30 to 14.  The Skippers will face the Shea Raiders in the semifinals.

In Division III, Smithfield moves on to the semifinals after beating Central Falls, 37 to 14.  The Sentinels play the winner of Saturday’s EWG-Burrillville .

Lincoln staged a big comeback, beating Tiverton 38 to 28.  

The combined team of PCD/Wheeler/Juanita Sanchez stayed unbeaten after the 15-0 win over North Providence.  The Cavaliers will play the Lions in the semifinals.
