83-year-old woman struck by car in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – An 83-year-old woman was hit by a car early Friday evening on East Main Road, near Quaker Hill Lane.

According to police, the accident happened around 5:49 p.m. Upon arrival, crews found the victim conscious, but with multiple injuries.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in serious condition, but as of Saturday morning she has been upgraded to stable condition.
