Police warn of suspects casing neighborhoods in Coventry

COVENTRY, R.I. – Police are asking residents to be vigilant after subjects may be casing areas in Coventry for a breaking and entering attempts.
According to a post on the Coventry Police Department Facebook page, on December 3rd, 2016, a woman called police saying unknown men had pulled into her driveway on Perry Hill Road.
The passenger proceeded to exit the vehicle, look around her property, and ring the doorbell.
“When the resident answered the door the subject told her that he just wanted to let her know they were turning around in her driveway,” read the post.
The man segued by asking if she had a car in the garage that might be for sale, but the woman quickly closed the door and called police.
The subjects left in a late model gray Ford pickup truck, and police are increasing patrols in that area.
Coventry Police advise residents in that area keep a lookout and report any unusual activity, and to call police at 401-862-1100.
