Wind believed to be factor in Warwick fire

WARWICK, R.I. – No one was injured after a garage caught fire Tuesday afternoon.

Fire crews say the responded around 3:30 p.m. to 435 Sandy Lane in Warwick after an off-duty firefighter saw the fire in passing and stopped to make sure no one was in the house.

The family was not home at the time, and the off-duty firefighter was able to save the family dog.

While crews battled the blaze, the fire spread to the main home. 

Authorities believe wind is factor.
