Suspects in North Providence double shooting face judge

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Two teenagers charged in a double shooting in North Providence faced a judge on Tuesday. 

Authorities say 19-year-old Ernest "E.J." Keosouphanh was arraigned Tuesday on a slew of charges, including murder, but, the judge denied him bail for a second time.

Keosouphanh is accused of shooting and killing 46-year-old Hernan Avila outside of the Sam’s Food Store in May.

Police say he also shot Avila’s 23-year-old son but, the son survived.

Another suspect in the case, Davon Silva was also arraigned on Tuesday on conspiracy and assault charges.

Silva is being held on $25,000 bail.
