Jail time for man who used Cheetos to try to burn down ex-girlfriend house

TAUNTON, M.A. – A Taunton man who tried to burn down his ex-girlfriend’s home with Cheetos was convicted on Thursday.

Back in March, the unidentified ex-girlfriend called fire crews saying 31-year-old Shemroy William was trying to burn down her home while she was inside.

Authorities say William had wedged a propane tank against the house while a fire was burning.

William was found with two lighters and an empty Cheetos bag in his pocket which police say he was using to ignite the flames.

He was sentenced to serve a maximum of two and a half years in prison.
