Two men arrested in connection to the theft of two Cranston city snow plows last year appeared in court on Friday.

42-year-old Jason Lehman of Warwick and 48-year-old John Lyons of Providence face a judges on charges of larceny over $500, destruction of public property and conspiracy to commit the crime of larceny.

Back on December 27, 2015 Providence Police found two abandoned Cranston City trucks. Cranston Police confirmed that the trucks had been stolen, and say the trucks had just been equipped with snow plows. They say the trucks were being stored in a fenced-in area at Cranston Stadium at the time they were taken. The thieves had to drive through a locked gate to get out.

After following up on multiple leads, police on Thursday arrested Lehman and Lyons.

Authorities say Lyons is being held on $20,000 bail with surety. Lehman is being held without bail for a prior charge, but for the incident in Cranston, he is being held on $20,000 bail with surety.

With an extensive criminal record, Lehman was also arraigned for incidents involving North Kingstown, Johnston, and Rhode Island State Police Departments.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives follow leads concerning additional suspect and the location of the stolen plows.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
