Speaker Mattiello calls Democratic Caucus

CRANSTON, R.I. – Speaker Mattiello has called a Democratic Caucus for Thursday evening to elect a new leadership team.

This comes hours after the Board of Elections will certify mail ballots to call the race for Speaker Mattiello’s House seat.

Mattiello trails Republican opponent Steven Frias by 147 votes before the mail-in ballots can be counted,

Mattiello is confident he will claim victory in the race.
