Canada took center stage online during the US Presidential Election Tuesday night. The prospect of Americans moving there appears to have drawn so much online interest that it has knocked out the country’s immigration website.

The country was trending on Twitter with over one million mentions, and while much of the talk was tongue in cheek, interest did lead to the country’s immigration website to crash.

Searches for “move to Canada” and “immigrate to Canada” spiked Tuesday night as election returns favored Republican nominee Donald Trump.
