WARREN, R.I. — Workers at the Historic Warren Armory discovered an Indian Chief painting last week fully intact.
The painting was hidden behind a wall covered up with tin panels. Workers found them as they were renovating the building. They believe the painting was a backdrop to a stage at one time.
The armory was built in 1842.
Officials say the painting was probably covered up for at least 100 years.
