CAMBRIDGE, MASS. — The Harvard University Men’s Soccer Team has been suspended for the remainder of the season.

This comes after an investigation into sexual comments was made about the women’s team on social media.

The social media posts ranked freshman members of the Women’s Soccer Team based on their appearance.

The postings were first uncovered by the Harvard Crimson Newspaper.

The school’s athletic director explained the decision saying this appears to be a widespread practice on the team.

However, students had mixed reactions to the suspension.

“It’s important for the school to uphold their values of gender equity and just respect, so I definitely do agree with the decision.”

“I understand that it’s something to be frowned upon, but when you cancel an entire season, you punish the entire academic body.”

Harvard’s dean says he will do more to make sure relationships on the school’s campus are built on respect.
