Tree crashes into house overnight in Coventry

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) – Homeowners on Dogwood Drive were awoken early Friday morning as a tree crashed into their home, due to high winds whipping through the area. 

The tree feel through the roof and into an upstairs bedroom, and additional branches took down nearby power lines.

No one in the home was hurt, and National Grid crews worked on the scene later Friday morning to restore power.

Tree cutters are also on scene to assist with clean up efforts.
