Coventry man charged with Cruelty to Animals

COVENTRY, R.I. — A Coventry man has been charged with Cruelty to Animals, according to Coventry police.

Officials say they responded to a residence on Washington St. to serve an arrest warrant on 24-year-old Dylan Harris.

While on the scene, police found a female German Shepard who was emaciated.  

Authorities describe the home to be in deplorable conditions. They say the home was filled with animal feces, urine, and moldy food.

Animal Control responded and the German Shepard was transported to an area Animal Hospital for treatment.

Coventry Police Department charged Harris with two counts of Cruelty to Animals.

The German Shepard, now named “Bella,” is in the care of Animal Control Officer’s and her health has improved greatly at her last weight in she was up 10lbs.
