Fall River police searching for armed robbery suspect

FALL RIVER, MASS. — Fall River police was dispatched to Tedeschi’s Food Mart on 28 East Main Street after a reported armed robbery Monday night.

Police say they spoke to a 37 year-old male clerk who said a man entered the store, approached the counter, and asked for a pack of cigarettes.

The clerk told authorities he asked the male for identification. However, the male responded by demanding the clerk to open the register drawer.

The worker says the man drew a knife from his pocket after he told the suspect he could not open the register.

Officials say the clerk yelled for help on a portable communication device, which caused the suspect to flee the scene.

According to police, the man attempted to rob the Tedeschi’s Food Mart twice this month.
