The Fall River man accused of torturing a pit bull so severely that it had to be put down, has been sentenced to prison on other charges.

Radislaw Czerkawski will serve three to five years in state prison for stealing money from a New Bedford church.

He pled guilty to stealing thousands from St. Lawrence Parish.

Czerkawski was already serving time for embezzling money from an elderly woman in Norfolk County last July.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said he will not get credit for time served for that previous offense.
