COVENTRY, RI – ABC6 News called Coventry Police back to a drug house Friday night, after suspicion that additional people who may have been involved in a massive marijuana bust had come back.
"Drug dealers! What if there’s a shoot–up to get their stash or whatever?" one concerned neighbor told ABC6 News.
According to many in the area, Log Bridge Road reeked of marijuana Thursday afternoon after 372 marijuana plants were found growing in home #356. Lt. Matthew Blair said it is the biggest residential drug bust Coventry has seen in more than 15 years.
"I can’t believe it! That house has been vacant for years!” another neighbor said.
Three people were arrested. Zheng Zhenfang, 58, had been living there for only a couple of months. Emily Tsang, 36, and Liqiong Zheng, 45, both of New York, were also taken into custody.
"We saw police getting out and they all had their vests on. Some of them had guns drawn,” said a neighbor.
The problem for many neighbors Friday night, was that the three taken into custody may not be the only ones involved. Many said they would see around 15 people at the house frequently, and were shocked to learn that not all, were charged.
A blue minivan with New York plates, carrying at least 4 Asian passengers slowly drove by to check out the property, two times Friday night. Once they noticed ABC6 News and neighbors, they sped off.
Coventry Police said they will continue to monitor the house, and are investigating other leads of people involved in New York.
