New Bedford man charged in connection with six robberies

NEW BEDFORD, M.A. – New Bedford police have arrested a man in connection with six robberies.

46-year-old Scott Almeida of New Bedford allegedly committed an armed robbery at Jalice Café, 1468 Acushnet Ave on October 3rd, 2016.

Police say after the arrest, an investigation linked Almeida to five other robberies.

Of the five, three robberies and an attempted robbery took place at the same 7-11 on 1499 Acushnet Ave.

Almeida was charged in connection with the following robberies: armed robbery on August 29, 2016, unarmed robbery on September 3, 2016, and October 1, 2016, and attempted armed robbery, Aug. 31; all at the 7-11, 1499 Acushnet Ave.

He was also charged with the armed robbery of Our Lady of Angels Band Club, 1446 Acushnet Ave. on September 29, 2016.

Almeida is being held at the Ash Street Jail in New Bedford.
