4 N. Attleboro girl’s soccer coaches resign following controversial drill

Four coaches from North Attleboro’s girl’s soccer program have resigned after a soccer drill over the weekend made some of the team members uncomfortable.
On Sunday, Varsity Coach Glenn Pasquel ordered one of his team members to bear crawl across the field with a blindfold.
"He walked with her. She wasn’t carrying anybody on her back. This is more of a football drill that doesn’t translate that way to female soccer,” said Dan Lebonte whose daughter is a junior on the team.
Lebonte says some of the players quickly got upset over the drill.
"Obviously it didn’t translate well,” said Lebonte. “And, as soon as he realized it, he stopped. And, then apologized when he realized people were getting upset."
The situation spiraled from there.
While some parents tell us off camera they support the decision for Pasquel to leave, others like Lebonte are jumping to his defense.
"This was not hazing. This was not bullying on his part,” said Lebonte. "Glenn is a good man. I don’t want to see him crucified.”
Superintendent Suzan Cullen did release a statement reading in part,"The District fully investigated the incident and concluded the situation did not reflect the core values of the District."
It goes on to say that they are working to fill the vacancies in the soccer program.
