FALL RIVER, M.A. – A Grand Jury in Fall River Superior Court indicted the two men involved in a robbery gone wrong back in 2008.

26-year-old Keith Cox, of Berkley, Mass., and 28-year-old Matthew Lander, 28 of Swansea, were arraigned Monday on two counts of murder, and one count of armed robbery in the deaths of brothers, Kevin and Shawn Vargas.

Taunton Police say back on February 24th, 2008, officers found Kevin Vargas, 23, and Shawn Vargas, 21, dead from gunshot wounds, inside an apartment at 729 Somerset Avenue in Taunton.

Authorities say Kevin Vargas’ two young children were found uninjured inside the apartment that night.

Keith Cox was held without bail.

Lander will appear in court at a later date.

The investigation remains ongoing.
