WARWICK, R.I. – The man behind a 35 hour standoff in Coventry last week faced a judge on Monday.

60-year-old Larry LaChance was arraigned on multiple charges including assaulting a police officer, and assault with a deadly weapon.

LaChance had barricaded himself inside his home on Raccoon Run Road, even threatening to blow it up.

Investigators say they found several weapons inside, and that he also fired at least one shot from a Kel-Tec KSG 12-gauge shotgun.

LaChance is currently being screened for mental health issues.
