Westerly Police search for suspect in bank robbery

Westerly Police are looking for the man they say robbed a bank Friday afternoon.

Police say the suspect walked into the Bank of America on Franklin St. just before 2 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash.

He took off with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen running through the back parking lot onto East Ave.

He is described as a white male, about 5’8” tall, medium build, wearing a green rain parka and tan fishing hat.
