Pawtucket lunch workers set strike deadline

Pawtucket, R.I. — Hundreds of students in Pawtucket may not have school on Friday if lunch workers cannot agree on a new contract.

81 school lunch employees are heading to the negotiation table today to discuss the issue of equal pay.

Lunch workers say female employees earn 76 percent for every dollar earned by a man for the same work.

If they cannot reach an agreement, workers say they will strike on Friday.

If that should happen, it will be treated as a snow day
