UPDATE: Bridgewater State student recants statement about assault

A Bridgewater State University student who told police she was attacked near campus early Friday by a man wearing a ski mask has since recanted her statement.
Officers from the Bridgewater Police Department were investigating a report that a female student was approached by an unknown man wearing a ski mask on Friday.
Police say on Summer Street, near the Bridgewater State University campus, the unknown male placed a bag over her head, and attempted to remove her clothes.
The student reportedly resisted the man and ran away from him. She has since recanted her statement.
The suspect is described as 5’7" to 5’10," unknown skin color, jeans, and dark hooded sweatshirt.
