Gillette Stadium partners with CBD Company, Gronkowski

The grass looks a little greener around Gillette Stadium Friday morning as the stadium has teamed up with a Woonsocket-based CBD company and former Pats tight end Rob Gronkowski.
After his retirement, Gronkowski announced that he was partnering up with CBD Medic, a brand of Abacus Health Solutions, with the future Hall of Famer saying the topical products helped him recover from the beatings he got in the NFL.
“Through those experiences here [at Gillette Stadium] include a lot of injuries and a lot of recovery,” Gronkowski told reporters during a news conference Friday. “Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place understood and that’s why they’re helping us promote CBD Medic right here where athletes need it most.”
Gillette Stadium has given the nod to CBD Medic to advertise the products around the stadium.
Gronkowski reiterated his comments from over the Summer, saying he believes in CBD products, and wants to clear up any misconceptions that the topical line is related to THC or marijuana.
“I’m not advocating for marijuana, but for CBD. And not for partying but recovering,” he said.
As far as a future in the league with a comeback, Gronkowski said that he’s keeping his options open, but hopes the league will take on a new policy when it comes to CBD products.
“I don’t want to be banned from playing the sport I love because I’m using a product I can buy or anyone can buy at their local pharmacy right off the shelf,” he said.
Doctors say that there’s no real evidence or research out there that proves CBD works.
Due to NFL rules, CBD Medic can only advertise around the stadium and not inside. The Patriots organization is not part of the partnership.
