Fall River man struck on highway, seriously injured

FALL RIVER, M.A. – A pedestrian in Fall River was struck on the highway and airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities say an unidentified 67-year-old man was outside his 2010 Honda Civic in the breakdown lane when he was struck around 9:45 p.m. Monday on Route 24 North, between Exits 8A and 8B.
The man was flown from the scene by helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital. He is reported to have serious injuries.
According to Police, a 59-year-old Taunton woman driving a 1997 Toyota Avalon struck the victim.
Investigators are still working to find out why he wasn’t in his car.
There were no other injuries in the crash.
No arrests have been made and police have not said if the driver will face any charges.
