Police: Witnesses say man attacked gazebo with Samurai sword

Warwick, R.I. — Warwick police arrested a man in City Park after they say he was attacking a gazebo with a Samurai sword.

Officers were initially called to the park Monday afternoon for a report of two people sword fighting.

When officials arrived to the scene, 37-year-old Andrew Rich was seen swinging at the gazebo posts.

Rich was arrested for vandalism, disorderly conduct, and having a prohibited weapon.

40-year-old Jessica Cole was also arrested. She was carrying a police style baton.

The suspects say they were just practicing sword-fighting.
