Dozens injured in balcony collapse in Connecticut

A house party at a Connecticut college descended into chaos when the deck collapses.

Three balconies fell to the ground during a Trinity College frat party Saturday night injuring dozens.

Some of the students were trapped and, according to authorities, at least 30 people were rushed to the hospital.

The house is about 90 years old and had structure problems.

“You look at the third floor and you see the deck was very rotted and old and structurally not very sound and then you get 50 or 60 kids out there,” said Hartford Police Department Chief Brian Foley.

Police say it is a miracle no one was killed.

The college is now looking into the last time the building was inspected.
