Navy’s newest ship to dock in Newport for next four days

A new state-of-the-art naval ship is set to dock in Newport Thursday for a port visit.

The U.S.S. Zumwalt departed from Bath Iron Works shipyard in Maine Wednesday and will stay in Newport for four days before heading to San Diego.

During the visit, the ship will take part in training operations.

It is the navy’s most technologically-advanced missile ships.
