A mystery surrounds the death of four dozen birds that fell from the sky in Boston.
Animal officials in Dorchester received complaints Thursday of birds falling from the sky.
Those birds were scattered on sidewalks and lawns on Bakersfield Street and it was not just birds that were affected.
A cat in that neighborhood was put down after becoming ill.
“We don’t know what’s going on. Could it be a virus that they got very quickly? Could it be an intentional poisoning? Could it be something that was introduced to them that was unintentional but harmed them,” says John Meaney from Boston Inspectional Services.
Residents are being warned to keep an eye on their pets until the investigation is over.
