Pawtucket police are searching for three suspects following a violent home invasion overnight on Anthony Avenue.
The incident happened at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
A husband and wife and their kids were sleeping when several men broke in through their bathroom window. The family has three young kids with ages ranging from seven to fifteen.
Their ten-year-old child tells ABC6 he was startled awake when the men broke in.
“We were all sleeping and then they jumped through the window from the bathroom because it was open and it’s easy to pull up,” said the little boy. “Two of them were in my mom’s room and one went to our room.”
Once inside the home, police say the suspects demanded money. When the couple refused, the men began to assault them, eventually bounding them and threatening them with a gun.
The male victim was stabbed in the upper thigh. He also has a gash beneath his eye.
He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. As for the children, they appeared unharmed.
The suspects were able to get away. The only description police are providing is that they were three black men.
The case remains under investigation.
