Police have identified the driver of a hit and run that took place Sunday on Route 44 in Seekonk.
Police say the driver Mary Elliott of Attleboro was driving drunk when she struck a jogger.
The victim was thrown into the air upon impact hitting a utility pole.
He sustained life-threatening injuries.
Elliott was eventually cornered by 2 witnesses that followed her from the scene.
A witness rattled by what she saw said, "my mind was just racing. It was just racing. I was shaking…he was laying on the ground and seemed to be unconscious. He was not moving at first. It looked like there was a lot of blood around the head area."
Elliott faces several charges including leaving the scene of a bodily injury accident and operating under the influence of alcohol.
