Man arrested with handgun, $2 million in narcotics

State Police arrested a Providence man for possession of 23.5 kilograms of narcotics and weapon charges.

Police searched the Pavilion St. home of  32-year-old Raul Ramirez on Sunday and found 22.5 kilograms of cocaine, 1 kilogram of heroin, $1,619 in cash, a Glock Model 19 handgun,a nd 2 scales and packaging material.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is between $1.5 and $2 million.

Ramirez was arrested and charged with the manufacturing and possession with intent to deliver heroin and cocain, as well as possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation and distribution near a school zone.

Ramirez if convicted could face 30 years in jail. He will be arraigned Tuesday.
