NEW BEDFORD, M.A. – Walter DaSilva, the man accused of shooting and killing his 19-year-old daughter outside her New Bedford apartment in July, was ordered held without bail after his arraignment in New Bedford District Court on Wednesday morning

Authorities say 45-year-old DaSilva shot his daughter, Sabrina DaSilva, many times outside her Bedford Street apartment building on July 3.

She was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital shortly after where she was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Water DaSilva had reportedly been upset with his daughter because she had been dating an older man.

He was arrested in August by U.S. Marshals in Bridgeport, Connecticut as a fugitive from justice for an outstanding probation warrant from 2002. He later was charged with killing Sabrina.

State Police transported DaSilva from Connecticut to Massachusetts on Tuesday.

He also faces charges of carrying an illegal firearm and unlawful possession of a loaded firearm.
