21-year-old man dies in dirtbike accident

A dirtbike driver that collided with a vehicle has died from his injuries.

Providence Police say 21-year-old Fernando Serrano struck a car on his dirtbike at the intersection of Leah and Fairview Streets.

The accident happened at approximately 8:20 p.m. Saturday.

Official say Serrano crashed in to the car after passing through a stop sign without coming to a halt.

Serrano was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

No charges have been filed.
