Pick-up truck strikes scooter in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Middletown Police are investigating a car crash involving a scooter and pick-up truck.

According to Police, an unidentified 57-year-old male was traveling south on West Main Rd on a scooter, and a pick-up truck was traveling north when it made a left turn onto Chase’s Lane.

The pick-up struck the scooter.

Police say the operator of the scooter suffered head trauma and other significant injuries.

He was transported to Newport Hospital and a med-flight was arranged for his transfer.

No one has been charged with any crime as of now.
