False reports of gun fire at Los Angeles International Airport caused a mass evacuation overnight.

LAPD officials are now blaming loud noises for the chaos, which led to the clearing of several terminals.

Travelers were forced to wait out on the tarmac and in parking lots.

So far, there is no word on how many flights were affected.
