BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WLNE)- Burrillville High School is moving to distance learning for the remainder of the school week, following an uptick in positive tests from students and teachers.

A letter was sent to parents on Tuesday evening, letting them know that “several students and staff members” from the school had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Students will learn from home for the rest of the week due to a large number of students being identified as close contacts and being required to quarantine.

They will receive live instruction and attend their classes virtually Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Students will follow their normal class schedules, with the school day running from 7:30 a.m. to 1:52 p.m.

The school department is working with RIDOH to best handle the situation.
