UPDATE: Health Department recommends opening Scarborough, Bristol Town beaches

By News Staff
The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) recommends reopening Scarborough State Beach for swimming August 24th.
RIDOH had recommended that Scarborough and Bristol Town beach be closed for swimming due to high bacteria counts.
Officials put out the warning on Tuesday and said they will continue to monitor the water quality at those beaches.
The Department of Health’s laboratory or another state-certified laboratory conduct the water quality analysis.
