An unusual ‘dine’ and ‘dash’ happened at a Foxboro restaurant on the evening of Thursday, August 11th.
A man stole a piece of Patriots memorabilia before leaving without paying his check.
Surveillance video shows the man entering Skipjack’s restaurant around 9:30 p.m. on August 11th.
The suspect orders, then jumps over the bar grabbing the signed Patriots helmet, and then leaves the restaurant.
Even more bizarre, the restaurants manager says the suspect called him the next day saying he planned to ship the souvenir back to them.
“I asked him, ‘why would you do that?’ he said, ‘I don’t know why, but I’m going to put it in a FedEx box and ship it back to you immediately,” said Pete Dowd, general manager of Skipjack’s.
The restaurant is still waiting for the helmet.
Anyone with information should contact Foxboro police.
