The Providence Board of Licenses has voted to close Aqua Lounge for 72 hours after a shooting that happened early Monday morning.

According to Police, there was an officer driving by the club on Broad Street when he heard a gun shot, then saw people running from the building.

Once inside, police discovered a shell casing, a bullet hole in the bar area, and also saw blood stains.

One employee told officials he was trying to break up a fight inside when he was hit by ricochet from the gun shot. The man’s wound was not serious.

The lawyer of Aqua Lounge says changes in the club’s safety plans are already being discussed.
