RITBA lifts restrictions on Jamestown and Newport bridge
Only certain vehicles are permitted to cross.

JAMESTOWN, R.I. (WLNE)- UPDATE: The RITBA has lifted their restrictions on bridge traveling.
The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority is implementing full wind restrictions on the Newport Pell and Jamestown Verrazaano bridges.
Only automobiles, pickup trucks, flatbed trailers, commercial buses and heavy laden tractor/trailers are permitted to cross.
School buses are not permitted to cross these bridges.
Motorists who are denied passage through the bridge will be assisted in redirection.
