Jet Blue flight from Boston to Sacramento makes emergency landing

A Jet Blue flight from Boston to Sacramento was forced to make an emergency landing in South Dakota.
The turbulence was so extreme it sent two dozen people to the hospital.
Passengers described it as a really terrifying scene. Many of them saying they feared for their lives.
Two crew members and 22 passengers were hurt after the plane, flight 429 from Boston to Sacramento, was forced to divert to South Dakota at around 7.30 p.m. local time.
Passengers say the flight landed safely but bags were thrown about the cabin, and many people suffered cuts and neck injuries from the rocky ride.
Passengers described the whole situation as surreal.
“It was a loud bang almost like we hit a wall. Then we dropped straight down, then it was just bags everywhere in the aisles, people were crying.”
A spokesperson for Rapid City Regional Hospital said the 24 people from were treated and released, all with minor injuries.
ABC6 has been told a replacement aircraft was sent to South Dakota to transport the passengers from that original flight on to Sacramento.
