A Rehoboth dog is recovering after being shot. A week later, her owners are still searching for answers. The 6–month old lab went in the wood’s behind their home last week. When she came back in the house, her family noticed she was acting strangely.

They rushed Dakota to a vet in Swansea and were shocked to see what was on this x-ray.

“It wasn’t something she had eaten, she had been shot. My daughter and i just looked at each other and they said shot with a gun. I would love to find out that this was an accident and not an act of cruelty, “ says the dog’s owner.

Police think it was a high powered pellet gun. The pellet still lodged in the dog’s spine.

Rehoboth police have questioned neighbors in the area, but still have no idea who pulled the trigger.
