Police: Man dies in custody awaiting court appearance

The Rhode Island Attorney General’s office and State Police are investigating the death of a man in police custody.
47-year-old Dondi Willis was in custody at the Woonsocket Police station Monday morning waiting to go to court, when police say he collapsed.
Willis was taken to the hospital where he later died.
An autopsy was done and investigators are awaiting toxicology results.
Willis had been in police custody for about 24 hours.
