NEW: One victim in Mansfield crash identified

MANSFIELD, MA – Adam Santos, 27, of Taunton was identified by friends on Facebook as one of the two victims involved in a fatal car crash early Wednesday morning, in Mansfield.

According to his Facebook page, Santos worked for Riley Bro’s Construction based in Stoughton.

Santos was killed on I-495 South at exit 13A when Police say a 24-year-old woman from Middleboro was traveling in her 2014 Nissan Sentra northbound in the southbound travel lanes. Her vehicle crashed into Santos’ 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, who was traveling in the middle lane at the time of the crash.

Officials say they are still trying to figure out where the operator of the Nissan entered the highway and what factors might have contributed to the cause of crash.

State Police have not officially identified either victim.

ABC6 News did reach out to Santos’ girlfriend, who declined to comment, saying only that she and the family would like privacy.
