Hundreds of bikers from all over took part in a motorcycle run in memory of Dorian Murray Saturday. The run started at Stick’s Tavern in Chepachet and made a stop in Connecticut before returning to the Putnam Pike establishment for a fundraiser.
The men and women were inspired by Murray, who most people knew at DStrong. He was a young Westerly boy who became world famous before he sadly lost his battle with cancer.
"I figured it was going to be this big because like I said he touched so many lives so we were expecting it we prepared for it but even seeing that amount of people out here it’s awesome. It really is,” said tavern owner Adriana Iannuzzi.
The proceeds from registrations and the 50/50 raffle will all go to the DStrong Foundation for pediatric cancer. A goal of $15,000 was set, but by early Saturday afternoon organizers said that they would likely exceed that figure.
The run may become an annual tradition.
